Hi, I’m Jane Mackay
I am an independent trainer and consultant, specialising in mental health, mental illness, suicide awareness and workplace wellbeing. I work with individuals, groups and organisations to increase understanding and effect change.
Much of my work centres on three key themes; ‘lived experience leadership’, anti-stigma practice and inclusion. Workplace cultures and group dynamics are at their best when they are fully inclusive and free from stigma and discrimination. Studies show that the best way to tackle stigma is to hear from and be led by people with lived experience. I combine these elements alongside helping you to hold some of the more uncomfortable conversations that help us to fully embed inclusion.
I use my own experience of mental illness to help me in my work; it has taught me a lot of valuable lessons along the way and forms an important part of my person-centred, asset-based, compassion-focussed and trauma-informed approach.
